Steel of the Month - D2 Tool Steel - Tough yet workable 04 November 2015 David Our steel of the month for November is our Premium range of D2 Tool Steel. D2 tool steel has great wear resistance yet is tough and machinable and will hold a good edge. It also has a high resistance to corrosion. D2 has many different uses ranging from knife making, to blanking dies, punches, roll forming dies and shear blades. We stock D2 in 3.2mm, 4.2mm, 5.2mm and 6.2mm thickness' in a wide range of standard widths, all precision ground and stress relieved for easy machining and heat treatment.
